The Miller Organization Buys Downtown Storefront In Charlottesville, Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The Miller Organization LLC added to its real estate portfolio with a storefront purchase on The Charlottesville Downtown Mall, the company announced on Thursday, October 19.

The Miller Organization (TMO) closed a deal with the Joe H. Gieck Trust to purchase its storefront in The Maclin Building, an iconic mixed use building located downtown on Market Street.

“I feel a strong passion and love for Charlottesville, Virginia,” said Jerry Miller, the Chairman and CEO of The Miller Organization. “My businesses are all headquartered on The Downtown Mall because it is the heartbeat of Charlottesville. I will continue to invest into Downtown Charlottesville and do our part to maintain Charlottesville’s reputation as a world-class city.”

The Miller Organization now owns more than 12,300 square feet of commercial and residential real estate across Charlottesville and Albemarle County, VA, including more than 6,000 square feet in The Maclin Building.

The Miller Organization is the largest owner in The Maclin Building.

Jerry Miller was elected president of The Maclin Building in 2016 and 2017 after serving as vice president in 2015.

I Love CVille Real Estate LLC, the real estate division within The Miller Organization, manages TMO’s 12,300+ square feet, including the 23 tenants who rent space. The Joe Gieck Trust owns more than $10,000,000 of residential and commercial real estate in Charlottesville and Central Virginia with much of its portfolio positioned on The Charlottesville Downtown Mall.

Joe Gieck retired in 2005 following a 43-year distinguished career in the University of Virginia athletic department, including 36 years as the University’s head athletic trainer. Gieck first started working at UVa in 1962 when the University’s student body was all male and the basketball team played its games in Memorial Gymnasium.

Miller, an award-winning journalist, who was previously a syndicated TV and radio personality, founded The Miller Organization out of his home in May, 2008 at the peak of the economic recession.
