I’m taking 60 seconds to spotlight real estate development and economic growth along the West Main corridor in Charlottesville, Virginia today on “Miller’s Minute” by I Love CVille.
Eventually, The Historic Downtown Mall and The UVa Corner will be connected by a vibrant, eclectic and pedestrian-friendly West Main corridor, also known as Midtown Charlottesville.
West Main and its side streets will eventually embody robust shopping and dining districts with customers walking, biking and trolleying from The Rotunda to the Sprint Pavilion.
Early adopters like Maya Restaurant, The Continental Divide, Shenanigans, eloise and others will continue to reap the benefits of choosing Midtown as home.
Entrepreneurs and restaurateurs like Curtis Shaver, Kirk Smith and Ryan Hubbard are also betting on the popularity of West Main.
Shaver’s Peloton Station (opening this summer on 10th Street), Smith’s Renewal Restaurant (opening soon inside The Draftsman, Autograph Collection Hotel) and Hubbard’s Farm Bell Kitchen (now open inside Dinsmore House Inn) have been strategically positioned to capture both Charlottesvillians and the coveted UVa student/parent demographic, which is now allocating its disposable income to Midtown and Downtown and away from The UVa Corner.
